What is the UK Government’s Access-To-Work programme and how can it help YOU?
The Access to Work Programme was introduced in 1994, designed to help anyone with a disability, including autistic people, to access the support needed to perform well in the workplace. You can self-refer to obtain a grant to help with either physical changes in the workplace, mentoring, or advocacy support.
You do not need a formal diagnosis to apply for an Access to Work grant. It is available to those employed, self-employed, or due to start employment in the next six weeks.
Please be aware that currently there is a considerable backlog andit can take over three months for the application to be processed.
